My name is Connie Furry. I was raised in a small town in Eastern Oregon. I moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1997 to be closer to my parents and siblings. I love the pacific northwest and all of the beautiful nature here. I have two grandchildren that live nearby, they happen to be my favorite humans!! I am a second generation Hearing Aid Specialist and have been practicing for 25+ years. My father and mother owned a hearing aid business and I also have 2 brothers and 2 nephews helping people to hear better!! So this is definitely a family affair. During my 25 years I have seen so many revolutionary changes and developments in hearing aid technology. My favorite part of my job is seeing the smiles on peoples faces and have them excited about their “new world” of hearing. I have two favorite stories that I like to tell. I helped a young man with his first set of hearing aids, as I was turning the pages of the manual for the aids, he stopped me and said, “I did not know that paper made sound when you turned the pages”. He was amazed. Another woman had just received her first set of aids when she went camping with her family. She was so excited to report back to me that she heard the crackle of the fire for the first time ever!! She did not realize the fire made sounds. These kinds of stories make my heart happy!!
